Planet Scuba goes to Egypt (2024)

We had a great to Egypt trip on the Big Blue, completing 19 dives over the course of 6 days on a liveaboard. This was a small group of fathers, sons and daughters as our first exploratory trip with our new dive trip partner. The sea was like a mill pond eerily calm with temperature's well into the +40c, and sea temperatures 29c, diving conditions couldn’t have been much better.

We had a team of divers from Planet Scuba, the rest of the Group was a mix of divers from elsewhere and an entertaining group from Wales who shared our enthusiasm for the daily routine of waking up and indulging in 4 dives, with some well-deserved sleeping and eating in between. Diving with Nitrox allowed us to increase our bottom time, and we enjoyed many dives that went to 60 minutes!

The diving experience itself was nothing short of extraordinary. We had the privilege of exploring renowned Egyptian dive sites such as the Thistlegorm, Carnatic, and many more. Not only did we encounter many marine creatures, but we were lucky enough to see dolphins on one dive, we also had the opportunity to dive many of the classic wrecks and to see how they have evolved overtime since we have been diving here in the Red Sea. These dives will undoubtedly be etched in our memories forever.

Four of us were lucky enough to dive sidemount and enjoyed the extra comfort of not having to worry about running out of gas. We dived with the all new Sunnto Ocean (available @ Planet Scuba School contact us if interested) this great little dive computer and proved to be much loved by all, enabling easy gas switching between air and nitrox prompting you when appropriate, the colour screen could be seen in all lights and at night it was a sight to behold, also amazing battery life with Paul not needing to charge his the whole week !! that’s 19 dives on a watch sized computer We highly recommend this computer.

Don't forget to look at the stunning photos captured during our trip on Facebook and Instagram. They truly capture the essence of our incredible scuba diving adventure.

If you're interested in joining us on a future trip like this, don't hesitate to get in touch.

I think we all can't wait until Planet Scuba are back in Egypt!
